More than enough alcohol to get anyone drunk... I thought the people who worked there were a little weird... but then again, it is a liquor store.

Note: I have never tried the food from the deli, so this review is just about the booze...
This place, despite being a mini-chain in LA, feels like it has been there since the rat pack days. Pluses: Great (but shrinking) selection of wines, beers and liqueurs, decent prices, fun but sporadic wine tastings. The new wine guy there (David?) is very cool. Minuses: Crusty old dudes at the registers who you think twice about before handing your credit card to, and a disturbing trend of shrinking wine and liquor selections. Look, I know that it's much more profitable for a store to stock and sell cases of Bud Light than it is to set aside space for something obscure like Dr. McGillicutty's Menthol schnapps or small specialty wine labels. But if I want Bud Light, I'm gonna go to Albertsons. Over the past 3 years I've seen much of the hard-to-find stuff go away...can only hope this trend does not continue.

This review is about sandwiches.
While sometimes it seems way too hard to find a good CHEAP deli sub in this town, Vendome is a bastion of of deliciousnous amongst the overpriced jewish delis and the painfully boring national chains. A 12" cost $5 and change and can be customized to your hearts content. The Turkey with the works is my choice but the Guadalupe Chicken is the hot bomb as well. Some of the small round sandwiches are bueno also (particularly the Turkey Capri with creamy havarti), but it seems like you get a bit less food for your $4.29. My only complaint is that some of the specialties do not have a foot long option. Extra points are scored for the bananas on hand and chip choices a plenty.
Skip Subway - hit up the Ven-dizzle. Don't worry, the dust is only on the old liquor bottles, not the tasty sandos.

I really love this place, especially their bi-weekly tasting events which are a laugh-riot. If you're stumped on buying a gift, their staff is well-informed and never tries to push an up-sell. Granted, the prices are not exactly the best, so if you need something common, go to Trader Joe's or Bev-mo. However, if you want something rare, special, or need some sophisticated guidance - this is always my choice. One last thing, their deli sandwiches are a can't miss.

About Ten Reasons to shop at VENDOME Beverly Hills
Focus: A wine swap meet!!!
- Location - Olympic and Rodeo area
- Selection - huge
- Service - eager if your looking at the fine wine
- Dependable - they have it at Vendome
- Creditable - no reason to doubt the wines quality
- Prices - solid
- Knowledgeable staff - ask for David or Keith
- Good web site - no
This store is a one stop shop for anyone in a hurry... food, grocery, soda, water, cigars, ice cream... oh, great wine.
I would go to vendome to find wines that are unique and different - they have a huge inventory and alot of wines that should have been snached up! Many are hidden in bins that need to be excavated... rare, older, and unique.
This is not a vanity store - its more like a licquor store on steroids, with a multi million dollar inventory... the service is very good and attentive... no hold times on the phone... BAM your in BOOM your out... all the richer.
Let them know that Yelp and LearnAboutWine sent you.
Once I was going to host a Champagne tasting, and I broke a bottle of rare wine - they not only delivered it to me, they got it cold on the way.... I had to pay, but it was worth the service and the one phone call emergency fulfillment! Bravo Wally's!
Clients: Jay Leno, Ryan Seacrest, and Tom Cruise... get the picture?

Ok, who would think that the best sandwiches in LA or located at a Wine & Liquor shop? My boyfriend and I seriously live here. They know us everytime we walk in and greet us with smiles. They have a deli section and as I said, they are the best sandwiches and are usually less than $5 for a huge one! They always have the snapple or vitamin water I can't find anywhere else. Parking is easy. Just a great, easy stop. Always reliable!
When I am in the mood to watch sports (happens during the playoffs of basketball and baseball but that's about it) on a week night I am only looking for a couple things... the comfort of my club chair, the soothing flicker-less picture the 50" plasma, a cold micro-brewed beer (old favorite or new discovery depending on mood), and a twelve inch hero from Vendome.
I know what you are thinking, the liquor store housed deli scares me about as much as the rotating creations cooking away on the 7-11 counter (explain taquito burrito pizza and a non-pot fueled method of developing/inventing and I will send you a dollar via pay pal). Yet armed with a solid tip and pissed off by a long day at work, a six pack and a twelve inch from Vendome joined me and the club chair to watch some Nets b-ball. That night I hit two of three in the evenings parlay, the Nets and hero were both winners, with the only thing I was responsible for (selecting the sixer from Vendome's extensive beer selection) being the loser.

Neighborhood liquor store...so/so prices (It's not a BevMo so don't expect it to be!)...pretty good selection of beer, awesome selection of hard stuff and wine. Keep a lookout for the occasional wine/beer/spirits tastings held each month (fliers inside store).

I rock in the kitchen, and am the baker of everyone's birthday cakes, hence I have a large pantry filled to the coffers with alcohol for cooking... Obvious to me, but you'd be surprised about all the ' WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MIX THIS WITH TO MAKE IT TASTE GOOD?' drunkards who find their way in to the kitchen.
Anytime a recipe calls for a bizarre liquor, Vendome is the place. Not only do the have everything, including a hard to find toffee liquor that the ladies love, myself included (hint-hint, friends! My birthday is next week!) called Dooley's, but the staff is incredibly knowledgeable.Oh, and the deli makes good sandwiches, also!

If you are like me and love to unwind with a glass of good red wine after a long days work, this is your place. VENDOME LIQUORS has the largest selection of wines, beers & spirits I have ever seen!!! It also carries a nice selections of Riedel fine crystal glasses, including cigars, cigarettes, and all the snacks you need to enjoy with your drink. They also carrie liquor gift baskets which make for a great last minute gift idea.
They are a few dollars overpriced but considering its location and the large selection of stuff they offer it is well worth it. VENDOME is located on Olympic & Palm Dr. 3 blocks west of Doheny. Go there, you'll thank me
The liquor section looks formidable as I walk on by, but that's not my (paper) bag: I'm a beer man through and through. Carries some of my favorite brews but also has its share of glaring omissions (not carrying Stoudts Double IPA is a crime, don'tchaknow?), not to mention prices that are selectively preposterous (ten dollars for a six pack of Fat Tire? Belch!). Employees are good people. Ample parking spots are a miracle. Has a Burbank-y antiquated ugliness about it, which is appealing in the midst of Beverly Hills. Within ambling distance from my apartment and so it's a shame I'm not more enthusiatic about it.
Could I get away with opening up a store called Pussy Liquor? The logo would be a cute kitten.

The prices aren't the best, but you don't go to Vendome for a deal, you go for the selection. Everything you could want to imbibe (and a ton you didn't even know existed) is here. I'm a big fan of their scotch, bourbon, and tequila sections. They seem to have a decent wine selection, but I'm not much of a wine drinker so I can't say how extensive it is. If it's anything like the liquor, it should be impressive.

I'll let you in on a little secret - Vendome makes great sandwiches. The reason I go here is for the sandwich and end up buying some liquor to feel myself feel better about the 12 inch Italian sub I'm eating. My friends Adam and Alexis clued me in on their sandwich making prowess and I laughed heartedly...that is until I tried it out for myself. Its not ground breaking or the best sandwich ever but if you can't make it to Bay Cities this is a pretty good substitution and the prices are so much more reasonable than the $8 to $10 some places try to charge you. Anyway they have lots of beer and alcohol - good selection prices are more expensive than Ralph's and Sav-On which has the lowest prices on alcohol other than Costco - ***I've done the research and its cheaper than Bev-Mo or Smart & Final*** Vendome also has a great selection of wine from all over the globe. If you go in during regular business hours or Sat one of the guys in the wine section can help you pick out some good bottles. They also sell lotto tickets.
